Bio

Katie Lemieux was born in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. She holds an Honors in Fine Arts in ceramics from Lakehead University in 2016 and a Masters in Fine Arts from the Peck School of the Arts in Wisconsin, Milwaukee, USA (2019). Katie has exhibited in group and solo shows across Canada, USA, Europe, and Asia, with exhibitions in Croatia (Ladica Ex Tempore, 2015) and Busan, South Korea (Hello Artist 열린 예술 공간, 2021).

Recent residencies awarded include Medalta International Artist Residency (MIAR) Canada, Skopalos International Ceramics Residency in Greece and Jingdezhen, Sanbao Residency in China.

Since her Masters, Katie has moved back home to Thunder Bay and works full time as an artist. She continues to work as a Personal Support Worker with young adults and uses these connections to explore silent methods of societal communication. Her social work continues to drive her artistic narrative as she works in her at-home studio.
